Triumph of Emperor Maximilian. No 118 - Hans Burgkmair 1516-1519
Triumph of Emperor Maximilian. No 118 - Hans Burgkmair 1516-1519
Unique opportunity. There is only one copy of this print!
Reproduction after original.
The print is wrongly numbered in pencil as number 120. However, the motif does not show what number 120 should do, but is instead motif number 118, representing 10 heralds. All with different heraldic signs from the Empire.
The print is part of the series Maximilian's Triumph. A fantastic work intended to show the Emperor's power. The idea was that it would be sent to officials around the empire to be hung up and remind of the kingdom's greatness. In total, the entire work, with all the images, would take up over 50 meters if they were mounted and hung together.
The picture is sold without a frame.
About the condition of the print: The print is in very good condition. There may be minor creases on the paper, something that can be fixed in the press when framing
