    City views and landscapes

    Local history

Views of cities and landscapes were produced extensively during the 15th and 17th centuries. Sometimes bombastic works like Sigismund Vogel's, more than a meter long, planch of Stockholm from about 1650. And sometimes a little more modest, almost postcard-like views.

    A family history

    The collections

Robert Weisz Hogen was an ad man and illustrator who was active in Scania for a large part of his life. His great interest in history and old prints led him to carefully reproduce some of history's most beautiful images. With printing techniques and paper that are something out of the ordinary. And this treasure has been managed by generations.

I who run this website is Johan Weisz and I am Robert's grandson.

    How it all began
    • A print from us looks best in a frame. All sheets have sufficient distance to the image, so that a passepartout can be used.

With a good framing, the painting will also last for generations to come.

    • Did you know that some of our prints are made from an etched copper plate? So an actual copper stick. In some cases, the plate is manufactured for the purpose.

And in others, the plate is a find from Robert's travels.

    • From Robert's collections new strange things constantly appear. Stay updated via our social channels to be the first to be able to purchase any of all treasures. Sometimes there is only one copy.

    • We will not print new copies when an item is sold out. The reason is mainly because the retouched original no longer exists, and because it would be financially unsustainable to maintain the same quality.
